Today, i.e., 15 October, is a very special day in many ways. It is special because today is the birthday of Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, known to the world as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, and on this day the whole world is celebrating World Students Day. World Students’ Day is celebrated every year on October 15 in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President of India and scientist Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

Born on October 15, 1931, in a middle-class Muslim family in Dhanushkodi village of Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is called the Missile Man in India. His entire life has been a source of inspiration for students and youth. That is why World Students’ Day is celebrated. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is a pioneer in the field of science and technology. Needless to say, he has made a significant contribution in this field. In 2010, his 79th birthday was celebrated as World Student’s Day at the United Nations for the first time.

Students are the future of the country. The thoughts of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam inspire the younger generation to move forward even today. His teaching was that no matter what circumstances you want in life, when you decide to fulfill your dreams, you keep on fulfilling them. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam believed that education is the only weapon that can take any country out of poverty and darkness. “Dreams are not those that come while you sleep; dreams are those that don’t let you sleep“. Dr. Kalam believed that students are the future of any country. It is the responsibility of society to give them a good education and show them the right direction.
