The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made a major change in its strategy regarding the assembly elections 2024 to be held in Jammu and Kashmir. The party has withdrawn the list of candidates released earlier and released a new revised list. This move has created a stir in the political corridors.

This time BJP has fielded Kashmiri Pandit candidates from two seats in Kashmir Valley. Mr. Veer Saraf from Shangus-Anantnag East and Mr. Ashok Bhatt from Habbakadal have been given tickets. This move is being considered as part of the strategy to woo the Kashmiri Pandit community.
Election process and preparations
Assembly elections are to be held in Jammu and Kashmir in three phases. Counting of votes will take place on October 4. BJP held a big meeting in Delhi regarding the preparations for this election. Many senior leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda were present in this meeting.
