14 Indian tourists have died in a tragic bus accident in Nepal. A bus with Uttar Pradesh number plate fell into the Marsyangdi river in Tanahun district. This trip turned into sorrow for the Indian tourists who went to visit the beautiful valleys of Nepal. On Friday, a major bus accident took place in Tanahun district of Nepal, in which at least 14 Indian tourists lost their lives. Everyone’s heart was shaken on hearing this news.
Horrific picture of the accident
When the bus fell into the Marsyangdi river, there was chaos there. A total of 41 people were on board the bus. Of these, 14 people died on the spot, while 16 people were seriously injured. The rescue team started work immediately, but still 11 people are missing. This bus was from Uttar Pradesh, whose number was UP 54 7623. According to the local people, the bus was moving fast towards the river and fell straight into the river due to losing control.
Nepal Bus Tragedy: Challenges of rescue work
Nepal’s army, police and armed forces are engaged in rescue work day and night. But this work is not easy. The strong current of the river and the hilly terrain have become a big challenge for the rescue team.
Nepal’s District Police Chief Mohan Thapa said, “We also carried out rescue work with the help of helicopters. We are trying our best to save as many people as possible.”
Indian Government’s initiative
As soon as this news spread, the Indian Government came into action. Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner Naveen Kumar GS said, “We are finding out if anyone from our state is involved in this accident. We are working closely with the Nepal Government.”
The Indian Embassy is also active in this matter. They are contacting the families and giving them all possible help.

This accident raises many questions. Are Nepal’s roads safe? Should tourists take special precautions while traveling in hilly areas?
If tourism experts are to be believed, more emphasis should be given to the safety of tourists. The condition of roads needs to be improved and drivers need to be trained better.
