Sanitation worker arrested
When the parents informed the local police in Badlapur about the matter, the police first tried to hush up the matter and took more than 12 hours to write the FIR. Seeing this indifference of the police, people got angry. However, seeing the anger of the people, the police registered an FIR under relevant sections and arrested the sanitation worker on 16 August.
People’s anger erupted due to the negligence of the school administration and the police
Actually, the local police took more than 12 hours to register the case. Along with this, the parents allege that the school administration in Badlapur did not appoint an attendant for the girls of the school and neither was the CCTV camera operational. Obviously, the parents started worrying about the safety of their children. After this, people’s anger erupted. You can guess their anger from the fact that thousands of people along with the parents not only protested outside the school but also disrupted the rail service by stopping the train.
People came down on the railway track, throwed stones at the police
The agitation became violent in no time. People came down on the railway track of Badlapur station. Seeing the police coming to disperse the people, people got furious and started throwing stones at the police. It is being said that many policemen were injured in this stone pelting. Seeing the anger of the people and the seriousness of the matter, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered the establishment of SIT. Along with this, the Thane Police Commissioner has been given orders to run this case on fast-track. Along with this, the school administration has suspended 4 teachers.
Uddhav Thackeray took the government to task
Like every case, politics has started in this case too. Former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray put the government in the dock and said that “The government is running the Ladli Behan Yojana in the state but girls are not safe here.” The Chief Minister of the state has expressed his deep concern about the matter.
