In Indian households, Raksha Bandhan represents mutual love and unity rather than only a day to deepen the brother-sister tie. This festival emphasizes the need for relationships and their defense.

Raksha Bandhan is significant in social and emotional as well as in religious spheres. It motivates us to strengthen the links in our mutual interactions.

Points to Remember During Rakhi Tying

The Hindu Panchang advises rakhi not to be tied during the Bhadra or Rahukal seasons since events during these times are regarded inauspicious. Tying the rakhi at these times is thought to generate problems for the brother. Astrology also recommends against tying the rakhi facing the North-West direction. Raw rice should be included in the pooja thali; but, make sure the grains are entire and not cracked.
