SANTA CLARA, September 29: Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire World Labs, the artificial intelligence startup led by renowned computer scientist Fei-Fei Li, in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $8.2 billion.
The acquisition represents a major expansion of AMD’s artificial intelligence strategy as the chipmaker looks beyond traditional generative AI toward spatial intelligence, robotics, simulation and physical AI systems capable of understanding and interacting with the three-dimensional world.
AMD Signs $8.2 Billion World Labs Deal
AMD has agreed to acquire World Labs in an all-stock transaction worth approximately $8.2 billion.
