Jaipur, July 2: The 29th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG 2026) concluded in Jaipur on Thursday after bringing together policymakers, senior administrators, technology experts, industry leaders, startups, and academicians to discuss the future of digital governance in India. Organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and the Government of Rajasthan, the two-day conference focused on the theme “Viksit Bharat 2047: AI-Enabled, Data-Driven and Secure Digital Governance.”
The conference served as a national platform to exchange ideas, showcase innovative digital governance initiatives, and strengthen collaboration between governments, technology providers, academia, and the startup ecosystem.
Focus on AI and Citizen-Centric Governance
Experts and government officials discussed how emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Deep Tech, Quantum Computing, Voice-First Solutions, and secure digital infrastructure can transform public service delivery across the country.
The deliberations highlighted the importance of building transparent, inclusive, and citizen-centric governance systems that improve efficiency while ensuring data security and accessibility.
National e-Governance Awards Presented
A major highlight of the conference was the presentation of the National Awards for e-Governance 2026, recognising outstanding digital governance initiatives implemented by Central Ministries, State Governments, district administrations, Gram Panchayats, and academic institutions.
The awards celebrate excellence in innovation, digital transformation, and technology-driven public service delivery across India.
Rajasthan Showcases Digital Initiatives
During the event, the Rajasthan Government unveiled several new digital governance initiatives aimed at improving citizen services, promoting innovation, and accelerating digital transformation.
These included projects related to AI innovation, automated public service delivery, startup support, and digital citizen engagement.
Platform for Collaboration
More than 2,700 delegates, including representatives from over 1,000 startups and 400 academic institutions, participated in the conference. Panel discussions, plenary sessions, exhibitions, and breakout sessions provided opportunities to exchange best practices and explore future technologies for governance.
Towards Viksit Bharat 2047
Officials said the conference reinforces India’s commitment to leveraging technology for transparent, efficient, and inclusive governance under the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The discussions and recommendations from NCeG 2026 are expected to contribute to future policy initiatives aimed at expanding digital public infrastructure, improving service delivery, and strengthening governance through innovation.
