Showcasing Tripura’s Premium Pineapple
The festival placed the spotlight on the Queen Pineapple, a premium variety that received the Geographical Indication (GI) tag for its distinctive sweetness, aroma, and superior quality.
Visitors explored fresh produce, processed pineapple products, organic farming practices, and innovative packaging solutions aimed at expanding the fruit’s domestic and global market presence.
Farmers and Exporters Connect with Buyers
The event provided a platform for farmers, farmer-producer organisations (FPOs), exporters, retailers, and food processing companies to establish new business partnerships.
Officials said buyer-seller meetings and business networking sessions are expected to strengthen market linkages and create additional opportunities for Tripura’s horticulture sector.
Promoting Value Addition and Exports
Experts participating in the festival emphasised the importance of food processing, branding, cold-chain infrastructure, and export-oriented production to maximise the commercial potential of the Queen Pineapple.
Government representatives highlighted ongoing initiatives to improve logistics, support farmers, and encourage private investment in the state’s agri-business ecosystem.
Celebrating Culture and Agriculture
Alongside business activities, the festival featured cultural performances, traditional handicrafts, culinary exhibitions, and tourism showcases, offering visitors a glimpse of Tripura’s rich heritage and diverse traditions.
Organisers said combining agriculture with cultural promotion helps strengthen the state’s identity while attracting investment and tourism.
Strengthening Tripura’s Global Presence
Officials described the inaugural festival as a major step towards positioning Tripura as a leading producer of premium tropical fruits in international markets.
